What we can review

The Office of the Milwaukee Ombudsman for Child Welfare (OMOCW) reviews concerns about children and families involved with the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare (BMCW). The role of the Ombudsman is to act as a neutral fact finder, not as an advocate, and to determine if the BMCW has followed policy, procedure, and law.

The Ombudman does not deal with issues about payment for foster care or foster home licensing. The Ombudsman does not become involved in matters that are decided by a court of law.
