the Office of the Milwaukee Ombudsman for Child Welfare
The Office of the Milwaukee Ombudsman for Child Welfare (OMOCW) has the authority to receive and independently look into concerns related to any action or inaction of the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare (BMCW) and it's contracted private agencies concerning the safety, permanence and well-being of children to determine if policy and procedure and the law are followed with decision-making.
Administration and Funding
- Administered by the Planning Council for Health and Human Services, Inc., an independent, nonprofit organization.
- Funded by a grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS).
- Monitored by the Program Evaluation and Audit Section (PEAS) of the DHFS Office of Strategic Finance
